DNS Records
DNS records
DNS records tell the internet where your domain should go — a website, mail server, or another host.
Edit records in the client area
- Open Domains in the client area.
- Select the domain.
- Open DNS Management.
- Add or edit records, then save.
Common record types:
| Type | Use |
|---|---|
| A | Point the name at an IPv4 address |
| AAAA | Point the name at an IPv6 address |
| CNAME | Alias one hostname to another |
| MX | Mail delivery |
| TXT | Verification, SPF, DKIM, and similar text |
DNS Management is included on Nexus Cloud domains. Changes can take a few minutes, sometimes up to 24 hours.
Nameservers
New domains use:
ns1.nexus-cloud.uk
ns2.nexus-cloud.uk
Leave these if you want Nexus to serve DNS. If you move nameservers to cPanel, Cloudflare, or another DNS host, manage records there instead — the client-area DNS editor only applies while the domain uses our nameservers.
See Nameservers & pointing for how to change nameservers.
Hosting on Nexus
If you also have cPanel or a virtual server, point the domain at that service’s nameservers (or add an A record to the server IP) so the website loads on the name you registered.
